Lauren & Trey {Diana at Biltmore}

Lauren & Trey {Diana at Biltmore}

Brace yourselves, babes. This wedding by Almond Leaf Studios is about to knock your socks (heels) right off. Set amidst a backdrop of the stunning Biltmore, with crisp fall leaves swirling and a nip in the air, and a magical—beyond magical—Edison bulb crystal chandelier (just wait until you see it) floating above the bridal party banquet table, this wedding makes you wish you were a guest in attendance a million times over. There are so many fancy, unique details like the cigar bar for all the dapper dudes (we dig groom Trey’s plaid-patterned suit) or the vintage Packard that Lauren and her father arrived to the ceremony in, that it is hard to say what’s our favorite. All we know is that this Big Day was flawless, from beginning to end. Want to hear even more? Bride Lauren pours her heart out to us below. Enjoy!

Asheville Wedding Guide: First things first. How did you all meet one another?

Lauren:  We met in the fall of 2015 in Hickory, North Carolina. I had lived in the area my whole life, other than when I went to college at Appalachian State University. Trey was excelling in his career in transportation, which led him to the Hickory area. We met for our first dinner date at The Hickory Station on the Square, downtown Hickory. He was the “southern gentleman” you read about in books and he made me believe that these types still do exist. We enjoyed a nice dinner and conversation and decided to keep the date going by grabbing a few cocktails at a local pub across the street. I knew the next day I had to see this guy again!

AWG: Sounds like it was a “love at first sight” sorta thing. Now, let us in on the proposal.

Lauren: It was June 16, 2016. I had left work to run a few errands around town before I came home. As I opened the door into the kitchen, Max, our fur-baby, greeted me with sloppy, wet kisses and excitement. We had previously talked about getting a new collar for Max that week and so when Trey came around the corner shouting “Look at the collar I got him,” I didn’t think anything out of the ordinary. I looked down to be surprised by a Tiffany blue collar that read, “Will you marry me?”Attached to the collar was engagement ring.

AWG: How dreamy! Any funny moments from the Big Day?

Lauren: Well, everyone who knows Trey knows he is notoriously late. I told him if there was ever a day to be on time it needed to be this day, our wedding day. When it came down to it, I was the one late for the rehearsal and the hotel to get ready for the ceremony! Ewps!
